Christopher Thorn

Chris serves as the Chief Technology and Operations Officer for the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT). With a keen interest in the thoughtful application of technology, Chris brings over 20 years of experience designing, implementing, and managing complex IT systems. In his role, Chris is responsible for conceiving the technical vision for the organization and directing assets to support the strategic objectives for the MBRT platforms. His work includes identifying process improvements in key areas of the organization including finance, grant tracking, and vendor management. He is responsible for all development of the Way to Be platform, including designing scope, vendor relations, development, and testing protocols. In his downtime, Chris monitors emerging trends in technology to identify those items that will benefit our stakeholders and strategic objectives. Chris is a certified PMP and holds a Master of Science in Information Technology with specialization in Software Engineering from University of Maryland Global Campus. Over the last ten years, Chris has continued to seek development opportunities inside and outside formal collegiate education and has attended trainings focused on leadership, project management, negotiation, and organizational culture.
