The MBRT believes that all high school students in Maryland should have access to higher education, regardless of their economic circumstances. The Next Generation Scholars (NGS) program, in partnership with the state, helps students from underserved communities develop their talents and graduate high school ready for college and career.
MBRT serves students in six high schools across five Maryland districts: Allegany, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, and Wicomico counties. Our professional staff partners with educators, leaders and school counselors to provide grade-specific services, ensuring students are prepared for their next steps in college, career and life. NGS Program Specialists help students and caregivers understand that college is an option for everyone, bridging knowledge gaps about higher education and career paths.
The 7E Framework
Our program delivers middle and high school content through seven stages: Educate, Empower, Engage, Explore, Execute, Elevate, and Enrich.
“Next Generation Scholars has shown me the steps I need to take in order to be set up for the real world. Through this program I've learned how to nail my interviews, pick the best colleges for me, write a super-bomb college essay and absolutely crush all my expectations of what I thought I could do.”
