HOW WE DO IT

MBRT expands access for Maryland’s students to diverse college and career pathways and enhance workforce development initiatives in local communities by partnering with employers and workforce boards.

We collaborate with leading business, education and government organizations to enhance college and career readiness outcomes. We also convene strategic committees and experts on topics such as critical workforce needs, education policy, emerging technologies, college & career pathways, and talent attraction & retention.

WE MEASURE SUCCESS

MBRT expands outcomes through the demonstrated impact of MBRT-led programs on education and workforce results with tangible metrics and data. In addition, we quantify businesses’ commitment to education and community stakeholders with annual programmatic and operational outcomes.

DIRECTLY IMPACT STUDENTS

Prepare your middle and high school students for college and career success. Our program offers grade-specific services, including educational activities, mentorship, and community building. Professional staff work with schools and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to deliver our 7E Framework: Educate, Empower, Engage, Explore, Execute, Elevate, and Enrich. By connecting students with local business professionals and building networks, we ensure they are ready for their future.

Invite Classroom Speakers

Educators across the state invite MBRT volunteers into their schools to enhance their planned curriculum. MBRT Speakers Bureau volunteers motivate thousands of students in grades 7–9 by discussing how achievement in school will pay off in college, the workplace and in life.

Place Information in Students’ Hands

Through our free Way to Be! magazine and app, we reach more than 55,000 middle and high school students across Maryland with critical information about college and career pathways and help them discover how to reach their goals. Way to Be! is a useful resource that is always available to remind students to stay focused and empowered for a brighter future.

Encourage Student Ambassadors

Our Student Ambassador Program helps middle and high school students learn and develop leadership skills to support their success throughout their academic journey and in the workplace. Ambassadors gain confidence in their skills to lead and communicate effectively as well as how to interact with professionals and manage their time. Championing student voices remains a critical component of the program.
