MBRT Announces Return of The 24: Maryland’s Emerging Scholars Award

The Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) is proud to announce the return of The 24: Maryland’s Emerging Scholars student recognition program for the 2025–2026 school year. In partnership with The Daily Record, this distinguished award celebrates 24 Maryland high school students who exemplify excellence in leadership, community service, and academic achievement, while also highlighting their engagement in MBRT programs.

Each year, one exceptional student is selected from nominations from each of Maryland’s 24 school districts, ensuring that remarkable young leaders from every corner of the state are honored for their impact and potential. We are grateful for the support of Whiting Turner in presenting the recognition event, scheduled for February 24, 2026, in Annapolis, Maryland.

Celebrating Maryland’s Emerging Leaders

The 24 Awards honors students who are not only academic performers but also active contributors to their schools and communities. Award recipients are chosen based on:

  • Academic Achievement – maintaining a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Community Engagement – service hours and volunteer work
  • School Involvement – leadership and participation in school activities

Extra points are given to applicants who have participated in MBRT programs and those interested in pursuing a future career in STEM fields.

Why It Matters

At MBRT, we believe in recognizing and elevating Maryland’s next generation of leaders. By shining a spotlight on the dedication, innovation, and service of high school students, MBRT underscores its mission to empower the next generation of leaders who will strengthen Maryland’s communities and workforce.
