Back for another year, Maryland Business Roundtable for Education is excited to invite graduating Next Generation Scholar seniors to the third annual NextGen NextLevel event. Designed for graduated seniors, this one-day event helps provide guidance for the next steps and kickstarting their adult lives.
On June 21, 2023, NGS graduates will gather at Six Flags America in Bowie, Maryland for a day of celebration and preparation with the help of NGS alumni who have recently navigated this pivotal life moment.
“This event has proven to be a great way for graduates to jumpstart their adult lives,” said Nona Carroll, MBRT Chief Strategy Officer and Next Generation Scholars Program Director. “Students appreciate the real-life conversations and opportunity to connect with their peers as they learn how to navigate this next adventure.”
Students will spend several hours with coordinators, alumni and other NGS graduates in Coyote Creek where they will have exclusive access to this section of the park, rotating through sessions designed to help prepare them for their futures. Through discovering life hacks to ease the transition to college and managing their newfound independence, this year’s event will have something for everyone. Graduates will also connect with employers at an intimate college and career fair, learn tips and tricks from current college students and get an exclusive behind the scenes look at what it takes to operate an amusement park.
“This year’s event will help graduates prepare for the next step in their journey while simultaneously entertaining them,” said Leonard Webb, Next Generation Scholars coordinator for Allegany County. “We hope to deepen their trust in the support that our organization provides, even after graduation.”
NextGen NextLevel is scheduled from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm and includes time for students to enjoy their free admission to the park and its attractions. Graduates will also receive a food voucher to use for concessions.
Registration for NextGen NextLevel is due by June 2, 2023. To register, students should contact their local NGS coordinator.
