The Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) is excited to share the relaunch of its Student Ambassador Program for the 2026-2027 school year, with applications now open for Maryland high school students interested in developing their leadership potential, expanding their network and helping shape the future of education in Maryland through student voice. The program will officially kick off with its first virtual meeting on September 2, 2026.
Now entering its ninth year, MBRT’s Student Ambassador program has grown from a cohort of five students to a statewide leadership initiative representing students from across Maryland. This year’s revamped program is designed to help students expand their leadership, advocacy, public speaking, entrepreneurship, and personal and professional development skills while building the confidence needed to pursue their future goals. Through engagement in virtual sessions, Student Ambassadors will connect with peers and gain exposure to education, business and community leaders. Exclusive invitations to MBRT events and collaborative discussions will engage students in strengthening the skills that matter most in today’s workplace and tomorrow’s career opportunities.
“Every student has a story, a perspective, and the potential to make a difference,” states MBRT senior manager Leonard Webb, who leads the program. “The Student Ambassador Program helps young people discover the power of their voice while developing the leadership, communication, and professional skills they’ll need long after high school.”
