The Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) is proud to welcome Alex Cha as the newest member of our team. In a brand-new, statewide role for the organization, Alex serves as Data and Administrative Specialist. With a strong background in data analysis and a recent chapter teaching English abroad, Alex brings a rare combination of technical expertise and educational insight to MBRT.
In this position, Alex serves as MBRT’s data liaison, helping to ensure that the information driving our mission is accurate, accessible and actionable. He is responsible for maintaining data integrity across MBRT’s system and presenting insights in a clear and meaningful format, providing staff, partners and stakeholders with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions that ultimately benefit the future of Maryland’s workforce.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Technology Administration from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), Alex joined Aston Carter as a Compliance Analyst, where he honed his data analysis skills. Most recently, he stepped into the classroom, teaching English in South Korea. This experience gave him a renewed appreciation for the impact of education and the importance of building strong connections with students. Now, he’s excited to bridge his analytical strengths with his passion for learning and mentorship with MBRT.
“I’m thrilled and grateful to have the opportunity to join MBRT!” Alex remarks. “Stepping into the new role of Data and Administrative Specialist, I would like to leverage data and present it in easy-to-understand formats to support the entire team’s goals.”
A personable and hardworking presence on the team, Alex is already a valuable resource. He even jumped in as a model during MBRT’s Media Day event on just his second day on the job, showcasing not only his team spirit but also his willingness to support the organization in any way he can.
Alex currently resides in Bel Air in Harford County.
