MBRT Students Set to Visit Capitol Technology University for the First Time

This fall, Maryland Business Roundtable for Education’s Next Generation Scholars students will have the unique opportunity to explore where a STEM education can lead during their first-ever campus visit with MBRT to Capitol Technology University in Laurel, Maryland.

As technology continues to shape nearly every industry, exposing students to emerging career pathways has never been more important. Through this new partnership, students will step onto a campus dedicated to preparing the next generation of leaders in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, engineering, space systems and other high-demand fields.

More than a campus tour, the experience is designed to help students connect classroom learning with real-world possibilities. They will gain firsthand insight into the academic programs, technology and innovation taking place at Capitol Technology University while hearing directly from professionals and educators who are helping shape the future workforce.

For MBRT, the visit represents an exciting milestone and another example of how partnerships can create meaningful learning experiences that expand students’ awareness of postsecondary opportunities and career pathways.

“At Capitol Technology University, we are committed to creating transformational educational opportunities that prepare students to lead in high-demand fields such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, engineering and space systems,” said Bill Butler, Vice President for STEM Outreach at Capitol Technology University. “Our partnerships play a critical role in expanding access and helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.”

The visit also reflects a shared commitment between MBRT and Capitol Technology University to strengthen connections among education, industry and workforce development across Maryland.

“We are excited to welcome students from the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education to Capitol Technology University and give them an opportunity to experience firsthand where a STEM education can take them,” said Bradford L. Sims, Ph.D., President of Capitol Technology University and MBRT Board Member. “Our partnership with MBRT reflects a shared commitment to connecting education with opportunity and developing the talented workforce that will drive Maryland’s future.”

For many students, experiences like this can be transformative. Seeing advanced laboratories, learning about emerging technologies, and interacting with college leaders and STEM professionals can help make future aspirations feel tangible and attainable.

As MBRT continues to connect students with Maryland employers, postsecondary institutions and industry leaders, this inaugural visit marks the beginning of what promises to be an impactful partnership with Capitol Technology University. Together, we are helping students explore what’s possible and envision their place in Maryland’s future workforce.
