Registration is open for the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) 2026 Annual Meeting. We invite business, educators, government and community leaders to join us from across the state on Friday, September 25, 2026, at BGE Headquarters in Baltimore for an afternoon dedicated to advancing a shared vision for Maryland’s future workforce.
Centered on the theme Student-Centered. Business-Ready., this year’s Annual Meeting will explore how value-driven partnerships between education and employers create meaningful pathways to success for Maryland students while helping businesses build the talent pipeline they need to thrive. As workforce demands continue to evolve, collaboration between education and industry has never been more important.
Attendees can expect to hear from top leaders during the program, including Tamla Olivier, president and chief executive officer of BGE, and Dr. Joshua L. Michael, President of the Maryland State Board of Education. Student speakers and the MBRT Annual Awards will round out the event.
The MBRT Annual Awards celebrate individuals whose leadership and service have strengthened our mission, including the June E. Streckfus Leadership in Education Award, the Norman R. Augustine Leadership in Business Award, and the Joyce K. Smith Leadership in Community Engagement Partnership Award. New this year is a staff award recognizing excellence and growth. These awards highlight the remarkable individuals who demonstrate the power of collaboration in creating opportunities for students while strengthening communities.
The event will begin with networking and light refreshments at 1:30 p.m., providing attendees with opportunities to connect with colleagues from across education and business, as well as Maryland high school students who will be onsite for MBRT’s Industry Day held that morning at BGE.
In addition to presenting sponsor BGE, MBRT extends our gratitude to sponsors College of Southern Maryland and Northrop Grumman for making this event possible. Organizations seeking to showcase their commitment to student success and workforce development are encouraged to explore available sponsorship opportunities.
Early Bird registration is available through August 31. We encourage you to reserve your seat today and join us for an inspiring afternoon focused on creating a Student–Centered and Business–Ready Maryland.
