Maryland Business Roundtable for Education’s 2026 2029 Strategic Plan “My Future. My Maryland” is officially underway. While the plan was introduced to our community last fall, 2026 is when the real work begins and our partners, students, and stakeholders will begin to see it come to fruition.
How will this strategy be put into action?
It means more opportunities for students to explore careers, stronger relationships between business and education, and a clearer focus on outcomes that matter to Maryland’s workforce. Across the state, MBRT is aligning our work around five strategic goals: strategic partnerships, advocacy and influence, career readiness and talent development, communication, and organizational effectiveness and sustainability.
For our stakeholders, this means deeper engagement and access. Students will experience career-connected learning opportunities at scale, from industry site visits to mentorship. Educators and counselors will have increased access to employers and resources to help students navigate post-secondary pathways. Business partners will discover ways to engage students earlier and build their future workforce as speakers and champions of Maryland’s talent pipeline.
Just as important as what we do is how we will measure progress. My Future. My Maryland. Introduces a clear framework of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track impact, ensure accountability and guide decision making. Metrics will continue to track the number of students served, and scholarship and financial aid supported as well as business and school partnerships, communicated transparently with our stakeholders. These tangible outcomes will be the driving focus in deepening trust with employers, educators and students – across Maryland.
All of us at MBRT remain committed to students who are navigating an increasingly complex path to college and career, to employers who require a prepared and diverse workforce, and to every stakeholder who believes in Maryland’s future.
