Join MBRT’s Student Ambassador Program!

Are you ready to make your voice heard and shape the future of education in Maryland? The Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) is looking for engaged middle and high school students to become Student Ambassadors—leaders who inspire their peers, share their perspectives, and help connect learning to real-world success. Energy and creativity are a must!

The MBRT Student Ambassador Program empowers students to step into leadership roles within their schools and communities. Through mentorship, collaboration, and opportunities to engage directly with education and business leaders, Ambassadors gain the skills and confidence to make a lasting impact.

Zippora Veirdier, is a sophomore at Kent Island High School in Queen Anne’s County. Zippora stated “I became a Student Ambassador because this program gave me a platform to lead, uplift others, and grow into the person I want to become.”

As an MBRT Student Ambassador, you’ll:

  • Step into leadership roles and make your voice heard in shaping education.
  • Gain confidence in your ability to lead and communicate effectively.
  • Learn how to interact with professionals and manage your time wisely.
  • Express your views about school in a safe and encouraging environment.
  • Engage in respectful dialogue and thoughtful analysis about education and opportunity.
  • Build a strong résumé ready for college and career applications.

Julia Park, MBRT Student Ambassador from Worchester County, joined the program at the beginning of 2025. “The program is fun and low pressure. I’ve met people from all over Maryland, and it’s helped me feel more confident.”

“Being a student ambassador has helped me improve my confidence in leadership and public speaking!” Soha Doutoum, Student Ambassador from Dorchester County, also noted. MBRT nurtures each Ambassador’s personal and academic development, guiding students in conversations that matter—about education, community, and the skills needed to thrive in the future workforce.

When students become Ambassadors, they don’t just grow personally—they help create stronger schools, more inclusive conversations, and a brighter future for Maryland.
