About Me:

Education & Training

Lauri Bell is the Next Generation Scholars program coordinator for Cambridge-South Dorchester High School in Dorchester County.

Prior to joining MBRT, Bell was a Talbot County Public School educator, serving 21 years at Easton Elementary and 10 years at Easton Middle, teaching physical education and health classes. Bell was named Talbot County Teacher of the Year (2004–2005) and received the Simon McNeely Honor Award (2004–2005) from the Maryland Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD).

Bell has served as representative for the Talbot County Education Association since 2016 and a trustee for the Eastern Shore of Maryland Education Consortium (2018–2019). She also supported the Easton Middle and Easton High Schools’ theater program from 2012–2018. Since 2009, the Easton resident has been associate advisor and treasurer for the Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew 532.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in School Health Education from Slippery Rock University and a Master of Education (MSEd) in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola College in Maryland.

Like many college students, Bell changed majors to find the right path for her. She believes her experience as a college student, veteran teacher and mother can help Next Generation Scholars understand change can be a good thing.

Bell lives in Easton, Maryland, with Jeff, her husband of 30 years, who teaches at Easton Elementary School. They have two sons working on earning their doctoral and bachelor’s degrees.
