MBRT’s Summer Programming Promotes College and Career Readiness, coordinating education opportunities and fun, hands-on experiences. Throughout the school year, we curate ideas from teens, education colleagues and community partners to understand what students need to work on to maintain academic momentum and to also identify what they want to do in their time away from the schoolhouse.
MBRT’s Program Specialists curate a list of local opportunities for students to give back to their community while earning Service-Learning hours. Maryland students need to complete a total of 75 service hours as a state graduation requirement.
In early August, MBRT program specialists work with rising seniors during an intensive two days to start their college applications. Students set up their accounts, write their college essays and have uninterrupted time to learn directly from the experts.
Designed as a summer bridge experience, we invite our newly graduated and recent graduates to join us for a special event to jumpstart their adult lives and help in making a successful transition to college.
We offer two immersive programs rooted in STEM education, “Saving Our Environment” and “Protecting Our Invisible Borders”. These programs are supported by MBRT partners who present hands-on workshops, helping students explore these themed topics.
