Celebrating 20 Years of MBRT’s Way to Be Magazine: Your Guide to College and Career Readiness

The MBRT is thrilled to announce the release of the 20th edition of MBRT’s Way to Be Magazine, a trusted guide that has been empowering Maryland students for two decades. This year’s edition, themed around technology and social media, continues to be an invaluable tool in helping students navigate their academic journey from high school to college and beyond.

Aligned with the goals of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, Way to Be Magazine serves as a roadmap for college and career readiness, providing checklists, charts, and expert advice to ensure students are fully prepared for what lies ahead.

With the ever-evolving digital landscape, we’ve taken a special focus on the influence of social media. Our latest design elements reflect this theme, and students will find insights from 18 Maryland professionals, each sharing how social media has shaped their careers. To make things even easier, we’ve integrated QR codes throughout the magazine, giving students instant access to additional online content, such as resources for navigating the financial aid process.

This year also marks an exciting milestone: the release of the inaugural Spanish edition of Way to Be Magazine! This fully translated copy is the result of a partnership with Cool and Associates, allowing us to reach even more students by removing language barriers and ensuring that everyone can access the information they need to succeed.

Since its inception, Way to Be has stayed true to its core mission of helping students chart their futures. The magazine continues to offer a comprehensive roadmap, guiding students through the college application process, and features beloved elements like the Meet the Pros section, highlighting career paths from a variety of Maryland’s leading professionals. Their stories shed light on the employment possibilities that await and offer invaluable inspiration for the next generation.

To ensure students have access to these resources anytime, anywhere, we offer a free Way to Be app, available on both the App Store and Google Play. The app allows students to explore careers, access tools, and stay on track with their college and career goals. New features are added regularly, keeping the content fresh and relevant for today’s students.

With a reach of over 70,000 Maryland students in collaboration with The Daily Record, Way to Be continues to illuminate the path to success. Whether in print or online, this year’s 20th edition stands as a testament to our commitment to providing the guidance Maryland students need to succeed in the modern world.
