Building Leaders for What’s Next: Highlights from NextGen NextLevel 2025

Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) recently hosted our signature summer bridge program, NextGen NextLevel Leadership Conference. Held June 10 and 11 at Loyola University Maryland and in downtown Baltimore, this dynamic overnight leadership conference is designed to support students as they step into young adulthood. We welcomed 33 high school graduates and MBRT program alumni, along with eight MBRT college interns, for two immersive days focused on leadership development, post-high school readiness, and community-building.

Students experienced a collegiate environment that encouraged reflection, personal growth, and future planning. Students also participated in a networking lunch with local business professionals, were inspired by keynote speaker LaToya Staten of Fearless Institute, and went on a behind-the-scenes tour of CFG Arena before an evening social at TopGolf Baltimore. Guided through matriculation planning, students received a guide to confidently make next steps toward their futures.

Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive:

  • 87% rated the overall experience as good or excellent
  • 93% found the sessions useful or very useful

Participants left the conference feeling more prepared—both practically and emotionally—for what’s ahead, inspired to take on college, career, and life with confidence. Thanks to the generous hospitality of Loyola University Maryland, Fearless Institute, and CFG Arena. A special thanks to MBRT member the College of Southern Maryland for their financial support as a contributing sponsor.
