Adel Boyd knew from a young age that she wanted to work with children. She considered becoming a teacher or a pediatrician—even became a Certified Nursing Assistant—but it was during her undergraduate program at Salisbury University that forever changed her path forward.

Carrie Pannone grew up just over the Pennsylvania border in Springs, where she was raised by her stepfather, who worked at the Kelly Tire plant in Cumberland for more than 20 years before it closed, and her mother, a stay-at-home mom. Though neither of her parents attended college, Pannone was eager to pursue higher education.

Morgan Cox grew up in Caroline County attending the same schools she now supports as Next Generation Scholars coordinator for Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT). Her parents have also worked there for a majority of their 30-year teaching careers…
