BackgroundA non-profit founded in 1992, the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) is a coalition of more than 100 leading employers that have made a long-term commitment to support education reform and improve student achievement in Maryland.
MBRT’s mission is to bring the voice of business to support high standards, rigorous assessments, and strong accountability in K-12 education and to demonstrate the connection between achievement in school and the success in the workplace, in college and in life.
In 2011, a series of vital technology solutions will be added to MBRT’s existing tools supporting education policy and programs across Maryland. Under the comprehensive platform of STEMnet, new hubs for students, teachers, principals, and families are developing in close partnership with K-12 education, higher education, government and the private sector.
MBRT’s success is driven by a highly engaged Board of Directors, it’s member companies, a cadre of 3,000 dedicated volunteers and a committed staff.
All share a common passion for improving the lives of children through education.
